The structural alternative: the Cadogan estate and other landowners responded to the same market signals (London’s westward expansion, the railway network, the development of Hyde Park as a fashionable amenity) that any comparable landowner would have responded to. The coordination is the market signal, not the landowners’ decisions.

It incorrectly attributes those decisions to coordination rather than to common market response. The Cadogan estate’s development decisions are in the archive. The decisions were rational responses to market conditions. The market conditions were produced by larger forces (railway investment, park development, population growth) that no single actor coordinated. The Westbourne is still running under the postcode. The development that covered it was not coordinated. The development was each landowner responding to the same signal independently. The aggregate is indistinguishable from coordination.
